Smoothies, Alligators and Swings

This weekend we decided to go to the everglades. Before we had Adriana, Joe and I got to know a lot of south Florida. While visiting all of these places I always thought about how much fun it would be to take our children and show them how much fun hiking and getting to learn about nature would be. Well the time has come and it has been great! Joe will make sure she learns all about alligators and the different types of birds that inhabit the everglades…
On our way to the park we stopped by at one of our favorite farmers market called Robert Is Here. Robert was actually there that day to share some fun facts about mangos and other exotic fruits he grows on his land. I picked up from fresh green beans, cilantro, basil, Kent mangos, passion fruit and dragon fruit. Adri loved the mango, she was munching on it while we tasted the dragon fruit. After that we got some smoothies. They make the BEST smoothies! Mixed with vanilla yogurt and any fruit you’d like, it was definitely the highlight of the start of the day.

I love Adri’s curiosity. She stares at everything. More so to try and put that object in her mouth… nonetheless still very adorable. On the Anhinga trail we were met by many black vultures and tourist. The park tends to be very busy due to the weather. The bugs don’t come out when it’s cold! Adri’s excitement grew as she saw the many birds. Babbling along and exclaiming at the white ones.

Joe was a proud daddy showing Adri the alligators and comarant’s. Its fun seeing how he handles her. Always a smile on his face and ready to teach her a thing or two about the world. After the lesson however I think she was about done. She fell asleep and we decided to head back home.

On Sunday after church we took a walk to the park to let Adri enjoy the swing. She loves it. She is also officially 8 months old. Time truly has flashed by. Seeing her now makes me realize that everyone was right about one thing. Enjoy them and relish in everyday as they grow, it all goes so fast!

The Blogcrastinator Returns...

It’s been a long time coming but I’ve finally decided to return to the world of blogging. There is just one real reason: it’s because I don’t want to forget. I always want to remember the wonderful things that happen in my life, including the newest addition to our family, Adriana Alejandra.
Last night I mentioned to my sister-in- law Cassandra how I wanted to start blogging again but could'nt think of a way to begin. I know a lot of women who have blogs from the moment that they conceived their first child. It’s awesome! I’ve always wanted to capture moments and I find that this is one of the best avenues in which to do so. At the same time I can update my lovely extended family in California.
Aside from that I want my kids to know of all the fun we had as a family. It’s great to relive fun memories and I plan to update this blog regularly with my thoughts, of the past, present and even future.
One of my first entries will be coming soon! Even though Adri is about to turn 8 months I want to reminisce about the road thus far on mommyhood. It’s been great so far. It has changed me in a lot ways for all of which I’m grateful.
